Jonathan Edge

Principal

Jonathan is a Canadian attorney based in Silicon Valley with over ten years of experience in international dispute resolution and commercial law. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and has completed the ICC’s Advanced Arbitration Academy for North America. 

Jonathan has extensive experience advising and acting on behalf of public and private technology companies on a wide range of commercial and regulatory issues, including privacy, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and risk management. He has acted in multi-billion dollar proceedings before the Canadian, UK, and US courts, including before the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as under major arbitration rules, most notably ICC, SCC, and LCIA. 

Jonathan was previously an associate with the Dispute Resolution practice of Herbert Smith Freehills in London and the Litigation group of Goodmans LLP in Toronto, as well as a jurist with the International Arbitration Group of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris. He also has significant experience both as in-house legal counsel and external advisor to various public and private companies in the technology sector. 

Jonathan completed his LLM with distinction at the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) and his Juris Doctor at Dalhousie University, where he was a two-time Schulich Scholar and Editor-In-Chief of the Dalhousie Journal of Legal Studies. He also holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and an MSc in Political Science from the LSE. He is admitted to practice in California, New York, and Ontario, and works in English and French.
